HGTV {sneak peek}

HGTV. THAT is Jennifer Rizzo! I am not even joking. She brings crafty goodness to Creatively Made Home. She is the girl that walks through Jo Ann Fabrics, sees jute ribbon, imagines a jute basket….and then makes it! I have told you before how creative Jen is. Her brain is constantly going and her creativity flows freely. I think what I admire and appreciate the most about Jen’s creativity is the way that she is always looking for ways to decorate …

Nothing About the Perfection. All About the People. Still About The Pretty.

When I came up with the idea for Creatively Made Home it was pulled from my own journey with my home. Creatively Made started as an art class. Became a way to build a Creatively Made Business and now has allowed me to share about my passion of home and family. The past two e-courses I have hosted and then brought in creative friends to generously share. This course I have asked four of my brilliantly, creative friends to join …

Registration Now Open For Our Brand New E-Course!

We are so excited to share with you our brand new e-course! We can’t wait to share this journey with you. **************** When I was a little girl I would play house. I would hang clothes on the line, pat my baby doll’s back, set a small table with care and decorate “my house”. For as long as I can remember I wanted nothing more than to be a mom and to have a home of my own. As a …

Studio Up Close {Your questions answered}

I recently had a post where I showed you my home studio. This is where I make art alone and often with my children. This is where I put the music on and let my mind wander. I received many private emails asking me questions about my studio and where I got certain pieces. I hope this post helps. If I forgot to answer your question or if you have a new one please leave a question in the comments …

You Can Never Have Too Many Books

I have been a lover of books for as long as I can remember. I remember the first book that made me cry. It was Charlotte’s Web. The tears caught me off guard. I was only a young girl, on my bed, reading on my stomach. I was surprised by the tears and obviously still remember that moment to this day. As I grew I continued to be a reader and not just what the kids my age where reading. …

My Art Studio {Where I Lose Track Of Time}

Until two years ago my art studio was down in our unfinished basement. I had plenty of room but the lack of good light and the chill during the winter made it less than desirable. I would find myself not wanting to work on art.  I would go a few weeks without creating and then get frustrated with myself for my lack of motivation. If you have been following my blog for awhile you know the rest of the story. …

Virtual Holiday House Walk {Photo Bomb}

I am excited to be included in Jennifer Rizzo’s Virtual Holiday House Walk. Such a fun way to take a peek into so many homes all dressed up for Christmas. I love just adding fresh greenery though out the home, burlap, vintage fabrics and little touches here and there. The kids definitely decorate the tree around here and it is a little embarrassing to tell you that it took me a few years to be OK with that. I do …

Day of Thanks Recap {and a little launch info}

We usually have family in town or we get together with friends on Thanksgiving. This year my sister and her family were out of town and because we are in the middle of preparing for the launch of the new line…we thought low key sounded perfect. And it was. We may ban friends and family from ever coming over on a holiday again {just kidding}. All day I kept on hearing from Kelly and the kids how much they were …

Handmade Christmas {The Littles}

Did you know that there are only six Fridays until Christmas? Sorry to freak you out. The truth is that we keep Christmas pretty simple around here. We don’t break the bank around here. We either try to buy homemade or make it ourselves. It means more. At least to me. There are so many creative and brilliant small businesses that it would be a shame not to support them and let them know we value their work. For the …

Show and Tell {Bedroom Makeover}

Thank you for all of the nice comments about Maddy’s new room! I have gotten so many emails asking about paint color, lighting, bedding etc. that I wanted to share some of the details. If you have anymore questions just ask in the comments I would be happy to answer them on this post.           I also have six different hat boxes that someone asked about. Three of them are from Land of Nod and three …

Maddy’s Bedroom Redo {Linky Party Too}

A little over 8 years ago we moved into our brand new home. I am an older house kind of girl so a new house means lots of work to bring even a touch of character. We have spent years adding built in bookshelves, beadboard, wainscoting, crown molding etc. We have changed out lots of lighting and have tried to create little nooks around this home of ours. The first room we painted over 8 years ago was Madolyn’s nursery. …

Breakfast {gluten free}

I get regular emails asking me what we eat with gluten allergies. I am trying to do better with sharing these recipes and answering questions when you have them. I think breakfast can be a hard transition for people because people are used to eating pancakes, cereal, muffins, pastries…etc. The unfortunate truth is that these foods aren’t usually even healthy. It is first thing in the morning after your body has been fasting and we can feed it garbage. The …

My Nest {Natural Cleaners}

Over the years I have gotten better at choosing more natural cleaning supplies. It is only recently that I have been making more of my own. This was a little hard for me at first because I love when everything smells “clean”. {I love cleaning supplies..so weird I know!} This past weekend I was reading my friend Maria’s blog and she introduced a new blog to me. While I was reading Brianna’s blog I was excited to see that she …

#3’s Room

  Before #3 we used this room as our school room. I loved the green we had painted it so when we found out that #3 was going to be a boy I just wanted to add a few things to it. We (ok…I had nothing to do with it) added the bead board and I painted the dots all over the walls. I just used different size plates and bowls as templates and painted them in with chocolate browns, whites …

New Bedding

  My new bedding from Carolyn Westbrook has arrived.  I will put up some photos soon. It is just as lovely as I knew it would be and the quality is wonderful! You can find her HERE. With my new bedding comes a deal for you. We have recently bought a new mattress. Within the past nine months I had also bought gorgeous bedding from Anthropologie and now that bedding doesn't fit…hence the Carolyn Westbrook purchase. If anyone is interested …
