140# Watercolor paper or substrate (wood panel, canvas, masonite, old book cover, etc. I’m using cold press but whatever sturdy paper you have on hand is fine.)
Artist masking tape. I recommend either black or white.
Brushes (I use a mix of soft, long bristle brushes and smaller, round brushes for a variety of textures)
Paints – whatever you have on hand (artist paints, house paint samples, craft paints, etc.) I like to have some Golden, Heavy bodied Titanium White on hand at all times.
White Gesso
Plaster of Paris (this is somewhat optional. Straight gesso will work but adding plaster will allow you to build up more texture.)
Mixing container for plaster gesso. (Disposable plastic containers with lids work great!) Paint palette or dish for creating washes with paint
Sturdy plastic or metal spoon (don’t use wood for mixing plaster gesso).
Rubber scraper or similar spreading tool like a drywall taping knife or palette knife
Gel Medium (Liquitex matte gel)
Collage papers, magazines, or images that represent feelings you want to invoke and/or things/ experiences you want to invite into your life.
