For those of you that have been here for awhile you will have heard about my friend and cherished friendship with Alexis Garrett. We met over 13 years ago on a trip to France. I have always teased that she was the most precious treasure I brought back from that adventure. We have traveled the world together ever since, spent time with each other’s family, I laugh harder with her than anyone in the world, create art together, each other’s cheerleader and shoulder to cry on and I can’t even imagine my life without her and her friendship. I am also the biggest fan of her husband, Ross Garrett. I feel like I got the best two for one deal of a lifetime with these two.
Alexis’ homes have always been my favorite spaces to visit. Alexis is a brilliant designer and has created homes that most of us will only dream of but it is her personal spaces that are the most beautiful to me. There is a comfort and ease into how Alexis has designed and lived in her spaces that invites gathering, good food, conversation, connection and memories.
I am so happy so share that Alexis and Ross’ beautiful home is episode two of Beach Cottage Chronicles on the Magnolia Network. I think I have already watched their segment five times and it makes me smile so big each time I watch these people that I love with my whole heart.
I know many of you would want to know this sweet news and if you are just meeting Alexis for the first time you can read more about her on her website or Instagram account.
I am obsessed with this show. It shows so much more then very cool homes, it shows the soul of the home as well as the people who own them. I live in a little off the beaten path, quirky little beach town on the Jersey shore. Called Ocean Gate. It’s the best kept secret in Jersey. it is like stepping back in time. I landed here after Sandy to pick up the pieces of my broken life., and found a little piece of heaven. The name of my home is the Zen pirate Den. It’s a 1930 cottage a few houses to the beach. Being an artist and designer, I made it into a colorful, tranquil bohemian treasure. I would love to share it with the world.
