Hello everyone!
I am back from teaching in California and my leg is healing beautifully!
It is still bandaged but almost all of the infection is gone.
Seriously….everyone that has ever known ANYONE with an infection has shared some horror story with me.
Bottom line…I am so thankful it is healing.
For the month of May I thought it would be fun to start a new series.
Each Wednesday will be “I Will Show You Mine {if you will show me yours}.
Not as scary as you think and I definitely won’t be lifting my shirt or showing any cellulite.
Did you all just breathe a sigh of relief?
Each week you can also link up and share “yours”.
Today I am sharing my basic makeup.
I get so many emails asking what makeup I use and especially when I do an e-course.
I swear that light in my office is magical and makes my skin look porcelain….which it definitely is NOT.
I have a routine and a way that I like to apply my makeup.
Nothing too fancy but these are my favorites.
I would love to see what you use too.
I like a pretty natural look and I am more likely to put a little more attention into skin and eyes than anything else.
When I was in high school I loved nothing more than makeup…and it showed.
Wowza could this girl pile it on!!
Now I really just want to accent what is lovely and try to naturally cover that which is not.
I have wrinkles.
I have sunspots.
I have larger pores in certain areas.
It is what it is.
I will never do anything too drastic to stay looking young but in the same breath I want to grow old gracefully.
I used to work in a nursing home when I was in high school and one of the loveliest sites is an older women that still cares about how she looks.
I plan on having long grey hair, painted toe nails and a little color on my cheeks at 90.
I hope I do.
I love when women don’t forget about themselves.
After I wash my face in the morning I apply Mineral Fusion Treatment Serum.
I am a sucker of serums….it must make me think it is doing something miraculous with my skin.
My skin is also changing so much!
It has changed so significantly that I am going in to have my hormones checked.
Lately my skin is drier and I am getting cysts under my skin.
When you notice your skin changing sometimes it is just little shifts and there are so many things you can do naturally.
After the serum I put on a Mineral Fusion moisturizer or my new BB Cream.
So far I am really loving it.
It blends like nothing I have ever tried and really brightens my skin.
I don’t like a heavy foundation so I use just a touch of Mineral Fusion Sheet Tint foundation.
Just a touch.
If I have any blemishes I will use my Covergirl Cover Up Stick #730.
I use a really light color and blend it in.
I use this for breakouts and sun spots.
I can not apply any powder without my awesome makeup brush my Arbonne.
I am still looking for a chemical free face powder (if you have a good suggestion I am all ears).
I really like the color of Maybelline’s Loose Face Powder in Light.
I just lightly brush my whole face.
I then top it off withΒ Arbonne’s Bronzing Powder.
Keep in mind that I do all of this lightly.
Unless I am going out for something special I only use a little blush for eyeshadow.
I told you I was all fancy:-)
I then use the same Botantics BlushΒ in Chicory for my cheeks.
I set everything with Mineral Fusion Hydration Mist.
When I run out of the spray I just fill it with water.
This sets all of my makeup and gives my skin a nice glow.
All I usually wear on my lips is Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia.
I am crazy over this stuff.
I keep an embarrassing amount hoarded all over the house.
Don’t judge me.
I don’t like eyeliner unless it is either Bobby Brown Charcoal Eyeshadow or Tarte Emphas Eye in Charcoal.
When I use the Bobby Brown I use a small brush to apply as an eyeliner.
{I only apply eyeliner on my top lid and only apply mascara on my top lashes}
To finish everything off I apply L’OREAL Voluminous mascara.
I have tried so many mascaras over the years and I always come back to this one because of how thick it makes my lashes.
I really like the Black Noir or Black Brown.
It sounds like I am Tammy Faye Baker but I swear I am not!
What do you use?
I love seeing what makeup works for others.
If you want to share what you use you can link up below!
I showed you mine…now you have to show me yours:-)
{if you want to get a head start on next week I will be showing what is in my purse}

I also love that mascara!! The only replacement I’ve ever found was a Mary Kay one. This is a fun little series!!
I’m a Mary Kay girl with forever oily skin, thanks t my grandmother. I appreciate their skin care for oily skin and have a favourite lip colour and will rarely wear mascara. I take zinc and evening primrose oil for my skin and it works wonders!
Oh how I just love make up! I am looking into the BB cream – I keep seeing it pop up!
Lately I am loving my MAC eye primer callled “Painterly”. I think it is actually a cream eyeshadow, but it makes the other eye shadow “stick” even in humid Florida!
Love also the Voluminous mascara – there is no other for me.
My friend sells NYR Organic products and I believe they are coming out with all natural foundation this summer. Her site is: https://us.nyrorganic.com/shop/edie
Hey Stacey, I love the MAC painterly, too. It keeps my eye makeup from “traveling” down my face. I love MAC for lipstick and eye colors!
I have switched, thanks to you, to Muvazi. But also the Bare Minerals is chemical free and I use that for foundation and blush. My skin is old skin with lots of challenges and this makes it look natural and even. You can go to the Bare Escentuals counter and they will make you up so you can see how it looks. Plus, it’s not too pricey.
Jeanne, That is my all time favorite mascara!!! I’d love to also know what you use on your hair. It always looks shiny and full. Care to share hair secrets too???
You should try any of the ‘Origins’ products. I especially love their skin care products, my favorite being Plantscription Serum, followed by their ‘Starting Over’ Age-erasing moisturizer with Mimosa. Their multi grain bronzing powder is also fabulous for a natural glow. I spend a bit extra on skin care and purchase cheaper mascara and lipstick – Maybelline and Revlon. I love all their products and am with you to age gracefully!
Hi Jeanne – thanks for shaing! I collect the Burts Bees tinted lip balm too – my favorite is the Raisin! I use Origins Starting Over Creme which I absolutely can’t live without! Honestly I don’t even know what mascara I use – I just grab one at target, in black. I may have to try the powder you mentioned and the spray – I could use a GLOW! Have a great day!
Jeanne – No makeup here.
About the only thing that goes on my face is Kiehl’s cleanser and Honey Mango Shave Cream from Trader Joe’s. : – )
And sorry, no man purse for Crafty Dad either. LOL! But I will share with you and your readers that the inside of my wallet is full of stuff that needs to be weeded out. It’s amazing all the crap that gets stuffed in there. Lordy.
Ooooh…. I love this! I wonder if I can get some of your lovely products here in New Zealand! I’m going to do it too – when my sleepyhead children wake and have been fed and watered…. π
I always thought I had great skin.Everyone complimented me on my skin. When I turned 40 I thought I would save some money and just get some things from the grocery store.BIG mistake my skin really was looking bad.I was using clinique for years but I decided I would try a more organic approach.BAD mistake for me.It did not agree with my skin.It was now looking worse. So back to clinque.I been using all of the skin care and my skin is so much better. As for makeup I am using some clinique.Although I can’t use there eye color I am lately having a reaction to it.
As for foundation I use Clinique stay-matte oil free.I only use this in the spring and summer.I will go back to a more moisturizing formula in the fall winter.I love this foundation.I actually just started using it and I am very happy. We will see how it is when it really get’s hot.But right now I it keeping my face matte.I use the super balanced powder on top to set my makeup.Just a little bit.It has a sun screen and I like that.My blush is clinique blushing blush which is oil free.Listen up ladies with large pores.I never had these until my 40’s.I use clinique pore refining solution.LOVE this stuff.Apply it with your fingers on your pores. Then blend with a makeup brush.I usually apply this on top of my foundation.Totally works really camo’s those pores.Cover girl is my choice for cover up.I just use a little under my eyes. This is a stick formuala. Not too greasy and not waxy.Milani is a what I use for eye colors. They come in 6 shades.I use designer browns goes with everything.Wears pretty well.Although I sometimes get that crease.I probably need a primer. But I love the colors easy to work with and blend.I use a lip liner.Oh yes I do.I have uneven lips so this is a must.Plus I fill in my lips and it keeps my lip stick on.My lip liner is clinique sky violet and my lipstick is clinique different lipstick in shy.Nice thing about this color and some of cliniques colors is that the colors make your teeth appear whiter.Gotta love that.My eye liner is clinique cream crayon.I got it as a sample and I am liking it.My mascara is covergirl waterproof.I can only use waterproof. If I don’t use waterproof then after I curl my lashes and apply mascara my lashes go straight. It is crazy but true. And as I said I only use clinique skin care right now.And my skin looks and feels great.

BOO YAH! BAM!
THIS is the post I was waiting for. Thank you, Jeanne. Now, if I can just have your Magic Window illuminating MY face at all times, I’ll be good. π
I’m off to investigate your makeup. (Er?? That does sound a little…intrusive. Thanks for spreading it all out on the table for me.)
I have used Mary Kay skin products for over 30 years now! I swear by their cleanser, moisturizer and foundation. I also use their day and night serum solution once a week. I like you, want that natural glowing skin look and then I put on the extras when I want, but the skin is most important to me. Especially now that I’m in my 50″s,and my skin is changing quicker than it used to. I love their mascara too. Oh and I also take flaw oil and fish oil every day which I believe also benefits your skin. What I really think makes a person the most beautiful, is their smile! I’ve seen women with hardly any make-up at all, and with wrinkles all around, but they have the most contagious smile that flows from a deeper joy inside in spite of what they may have been through.
This is a fun little series you are doing Jeanne!
