I am loving sharing fall inspiration this past week and we will keep sharing through Thanksgiving.
I am peeking ahead for today because I have been fortunate to be included in the Farmhouse Holiday Series and today we are sharing our kitchens dressed up for the holidays and also sharing a favorite recipe.
Leading up to Thanksgiving and into Christmas the house just FEELS cozier.
I love the extra textures, the smells, the baking and preparing.
I love the gathering!
I thought a holiday tea would be an easy and pretty way to share how gathering during the holidays doesn’t have to be a big event. It can be intimate invitations with some of your favorite people. Simple gatherings are some of the sweetest ways to tell those that you love how special they are to you. I would take an invitation to spend time together and to catch up over a gift any day! What about you?
This post is sponsored by HomeGoods. We found everything we needed at HomeGoods to create this beautiful and intimate tea!
One of our favorite and EASY recipes is Cherry Clafoutis. The kids make this on their own (and our Maddy made this one).
Cherry Clafoutis
1/2 stick butter, melted, plus more for baking dish
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for baking dish
1 pound fresh or frozen pitted cherries
1/2 cup sugar (we used Stevia)
Pinch salt
4 eggs
1 cup milk (we used half and half)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 lemon, zested
Powdered sugar
Butter and lightly dust with flour (we used gluten free) a 7 by 5-inch baking dish
Add the cherries to the baking dish
In a bowl add sugar (we used Stevia), flour and salt and mix until blended. In a large bowl combine the eggs, milk, vanilla, butter and lemon zest until blended (if you have brandy on hand it is delicious with a few Tablespoons). Add all of the ingredients together and pour over the cherries.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
Dust with powdered sugar if you wish.

Gorgeous table
Your table setting is so beautiful. My favorite has to be Christmas Eve. I pull out my special pieces and fuss over the table and dinner. All the craziness is done, it is just about family and the true meaning of Christmas.
I would love to create a soup bar and invite my neighbors. Beautiful table!
Love this! Would love to have a girls’ day tea where we can all wrap presents together!
Thank you for the lovely recipe! I will definitely be trying this one.
GORGEOUS Jeanne! I would love to host Christmas gathering where we have a coffee and hot chocolate bar and make gingerbread houses…With the table decorated like yours!
How pretty!! I can’t wait to start decorating for Christmas. I think some mulled wine, hot cocoa and treats after a hunt for a Christmas tree in the woods would be a fun gathering.
I would love to have an organic, autumnal luncheon for my friends. -Marsha
This year we are going to do our holiday meals, with just us. Less stress and fuss. But, I am planning on having people over and making a big dessert bar!
I love shopping at Home Goods especially before Holidays! Even my grandkids know it’s my favorite store!!
I’m hosting both Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve so I definitely need to be creative with environment. I’m hoping Thanksgiving will be more intimate with a woodsy feel.
I love the idea of a Holiday Tea – I used to have tea parties for my friends but the craziness of life has gotten in the way. Hoping to be more intentional this season.
I love the simply elegance of your table! As all my Christmas décor is in storage in another state, I will be decorating with what is around me. Lots of greens, pinecones and other natural elements.
I’d like to do a dessert bar party with some cookies, cakes, and of course your cherry clafouti!
My heart is returning to my home. Thank you for this inspiration. I simply want to serve my family better and provide sit down times like this to just be together in the midst of our often times too busy of lives. Thank you so much, Jeanne, for all that you do. ~jamie
So beautiful! The Lord has been so lovingly, gently loud about connection these days. I feel the pull to throw open the doors and invite the world 🙂 I would host a Friendsgiving and love on my peeps.
You have done a beautiful job!…. and I would like to create a white wonderland tablescape fur my Christmas dinner!
I love your style Jeanne. Thanks for the inspiration!
Wow!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! I absolutely love creating tablescapes, but I’m not sure if mine turn out anywhere near this or the others sharing! I am a big book lover and a big coffee lover, so I would love to create an intimate gathering of a few ladies to discuss a book we’ve all read while enjoying coffee and a few brunch foods.
Coming from a big family, I don’t have too many intimate gatherings. But I remember the cherished moments I spent with my daughter before she passed. She loved Thanksgiving and I will fondly remember those days when we gather together with our loved ones. Warm holiday wishes to you all.
I’d like to start a progressive Christmas party with friends. We would travel together and go to each of our homes. It will be appetizers, etc. We will be looking at everyone’s Decorated Holiday homes, and then pile into cars and head for the next person’s home! I did this once before several years ago, and it was crazy fun and one of my very favorite Christmas memories!
I would love to do a “favorite things” tea for the ladies at my church!!
Beautiful! I love wood and white with greenery this time of year. My favorite get-together this time of year is Christmas Day. We spend time with mine and my husband’s families Christmas Eve, have Christmas morning to ourselves, and then open our home in the afternoon and evening to young couples who couldn’t make it home for Christmas (we live in a college town). We do it to be a blessing, but we’ve been so blessed in return!
I love it Jeanne! You have such a beautiful gift to make everything so inviting and cozy no matter what you do. I always love the natural elements you add. A fun Christmas cookie decorating party would be so fun to throw with a little help from Homegoods 😉
Beautiful!! Your posts are always inspiring. 🙂
Beautiful setting. I have neighbors over for bloody marys on Thanksgiving morning.
I am going to create a celebratory lunch for my granddaughters and me to acknowledge my older granddaughter’s scholarship to her first choice of colleges! What better reason to make the cherry clafoutis. Love your table setting.
I’m having a Christmas brunch for my book club, so your cherry clafoutis just might make an appearance. Would love to serve the girls on some New Homegoods tableware!
I’ve been wanting to host a Christams Tea, with all the fluff.
This is so beautiful!! I love Christmas Eve: attending church with our family and then coming home for Christmas Eve dinner!
I usually have a Christmas Eve small gathering after a candle lighting service at church. Sometimes, if the weather cooperates, we will have a fire pit gathering with hot chocolate for the younger and something a little stronger for the adults. It is nice to have one gathering that is relaxed and laid back before the “big day”….or even AFTER the “big day” once all the parties have ended and we have caught our second wind…..LOL.
Beautiful table setting! I LOVE all the natural elements – nature seems to make the most beautiful accents, right? This time of year is all about comfort food and being cozy and warm so I would love to have a soup sharing gathering where everyone brings their favorite soup and shares it. Yum!
This is beautiful! I would love to host a brunch and invite some neighbor ladies.
love the idea of a holiday tea – less work than a big meal = more tije with friends!
What a gorgeous, rustic table! I love the mix of greens and white hydrangeas. I would love to carve out a small gathering of my girlfriends for a very casual brunch or dessert with coffee time. We all have teenagers that pull us (joyfully!) all over our state and country with their activities, and it causes us to miss out on seeing each other for months at a time. I’d love to set a pretty table and just “be”.
I want to have a dessert party for friends.
A Christmas tea with our four granddaughters would be so fun! Love the organic feel of those wood slice pedestals!
I want to create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, for my family of 12, filled with love, acceptance and joy! I love Thanksgiving and I am dreaming of a white Christmas!
Thank you, Jeanne, for the recipe and lovely inspiration! I love to host an intimate Christmas morning breakfast with pancakes and all the trimmings (and presents, of course) with my adult children and their partners, your lovely tablescape will certainly inspire our table!
I absolutely LOVE everything!! Having lived in England, and having a British husband, your tea idea is brilliant:) I would also love to set up a table and host a party for my teenage daughter and her friends, so that they could decorate gingerbread houses while eating cookies and drinking hot chocolate!!
I think I would like to hold a ” Holiday Season Tea” with all my family and close friends, celebrating all the beauty it brings. The birth of Jesus Christ, and the feeling of closeness that we all feel when we get together with our loved ones. Along with looking forward to all the wonderful things the New Year holds in store!! I would have appetizer and dessert type tea. With everyone bringing a dish that is there specialty!! But my home and my beautiful tablescape would be my gift to everyone. Jeanne your tablescape is beautiful!! It would make any type of get together awesome!!.
To kick off the holiday season, I am planning a hot chocolate/dessert party. I’ve never done a hot chocolate station before, so I’ve been gathering the items to make it stylish and appealing. I would spend the $100 on accessories for this new “station” in my home. I’ve never before made a clafoutis. Looks easy and delicious..
Love, love, love it all…your talent is so awesome, thanks for the opportunity
Very inviting. Gathering around a table sharing life and food is always a special time. A hot chocolate bar might be easy and fun too.
I love to create a comfortable space; one where people feel like they are at home and can help themselves to whatever is needed. Nothing feels more natural than the family gatherings I remember as a kid (certainly not planned or fussy)…people just came together and talked and ate and played. It was relaxed and easy, and no one was thinking about the time. Love those type of gatherings.
Your table looks delicious! Of course it would be all about family if I could pull off a table as beautiful as this.
So pretty!
My goal this holiday season is to create a gathering for my husband and two sons right here in our home. A lot of times I give so much to others that I can overlook them and things feel hurried and rushed when we all gather. It wasn’t always like that so it’s important that we get back to simpler times.
Lovely and inviting tablescape Jeanne!! I am looking forward to a soup and freshly baked bread gathering here in my home with 8 of my closest girlfriends and we will craft a Christmas ornament together and laugh and pray for one another….thanks for the giveaway!! 🙂 A joyous Thanksgiving to you and yours in your new home! p.s. The Lord has opened a door for our family to buy 41 acres and after 3 years of searching, it seems too good to be true – I was reminded of your sharing about dreaming BIG…our God is BIG!! 🙂
I’d like to create a small, nostalgic tablescape. Something that reminds me of Christmas past. I would inlcude my Mom and three sisters. Maybe a brunch!
I have a special group of 12 friends who have cross stitched together every other Monday night since 1988! We always have a special Christmas potluck and exchange an ornament- I would love to host them with a special tea- they have been there over the years through many happy and sad times-and deserve a treat!
So gorgeous! As always. ? With the temperatures dropping, I would love to create a cozy soup night with close friends. It’s been a tough few months and soup & good friends are a wonderful way to fill the season with a calming joy.
Beautiful table. You always inspire quiet family centered gatherings and, of course, those are the best ones! I hope to do the same for my family.
I would like to create a classic buy festive atmosphere that is simplistic in color and design (mostly white) but still has holiday touches.
Beautiful table! I would hold a girl’s tea for my girlfriends and their daughters. I love tea and sweets and good fellowship, so that would be an awesome day for me.Thanks for a chance to win!
I love your home so cozy and welcoming. I love shopping at Home Goods its so fun and inspiring. I would love a new accent rug or accent chair. Your home is so inspiring. I love the letter idea at the table setting. Fun way to help the guest remember a fun cozy Christmas dinner. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous home with us.
I would love to host a Holiday Tea for the hardworking stay-at-home mothers that I know.
i love the idea of fixing the dessert that your children made for my friends game night . 3 of us are glutten free and this looks fabulous. i also love the 3 tiered plate on your table. i love home goods as they have so many one of a kind items that gives your house that unique feel. i also love the unique salad plates that you can use that i buy at pier one, example animals dressed in fall attire or the ones at west elm where the animals are dressed in clothes. i bought the sea creatures dressed up in clothes. The shark had a red bikini on. So many choices to make waiting for the party. i love to entertain but don’t do enough of it.
Cookie exchange with cozy farmhouse decor!
I would like to start a book club! It would be nice to get to know some new neighbors this way.
Just love this tablescape Jeanne! Oh how I love Homegoods delights. Thanks for the chance.
Always love hosting a craft day with friends!
Wood slices are great! Would like to have ladies luncheon
I would love to create a fireside dinner for my husband and me. No TV, no movie, nothing but good music and a beautiful fire with a lovely candlelit meal.
Just this morning I was thinking how nice it would be to host the ladies from my bible study group for a “getting to know each other better” evening during early December: mulled wine, sweet and savory treats, a few printed questions to start the conversations rolling: “What’s on your car stereo right now?” “What does your morning routine look like?” “Favorite holiday traditions or memories”….
I would love to host my sister on my birthday weekend, as I turn 65! New chapter in life, much to look forward to. We would have so much fun setting a beautiful table and making Mom’s apple crisp and brewing up some good coffee. And we would eat icecream. Key to a happy life: icecream!
GORGEOUS! I love creating a warm and cozy home all year round but Christmas is my most favorite time of the year! Tablescapes are so fun to create! I enjoy it when friends and family linger over drinks and laughter.
I’d love to set up a rustic, cozy tablescape to host a Christmas Eve party for our family.
LOVE everything! I am looking forward to creating a Christmas morning table. Lot’s of yummy breakfast / brunch food with candles , green and silver accents
I love the idea of a tea!! Thank you, I’m going to do this?
Wow!! Can I come by for tea??? I just want to live in your home, it’s so beautiful!!! You have the perfect combo of glam, rustic, urban, and so cozy!! Thankyou for the lovely inspiration!
This whole room looks so cozy and comfortable… a perfect spot for a family holiday gathering!
I am fortunate enough to live in a warm climate and have many friends/family come to visit over the winter months. It would be so special to create a “tropical tea” to celebrate with them while they are here enjoying the warm sunshine!
I would like a cozy, festive look.
This is beautiful! I would enjoy creating a coffee/hot chocolate bar some evening for friends and their children. 🙂
