As a creative, one of my favorite things in the world is to step into the creative space of another. I love when an artist shares their space, how they use it, a peek into their favorite tools and even what they are currently working on. I hope you will join me in the An Artist Studio series!
I hope it will encourage you to cherish your own creating space. I started on the kitchen table, built our business in an unfinished basement, filmed our first courses in a transformed dining room, my last studio was huge and now much smaller. I know that I will find a creative space no matter where we go next or wherever we travel. The space you have is perfect if you are showing up and creating in it!
Previous studio tours: Sandi Hester, Diane Reeves, Jan McCarthy, Sheila Atchley and Julia Muller.
This month we have been welcomed into the studio of Aimee Irel Bishop.
I am a gatherer. A creative. A lover. A beauty seeker. I believe in the healing power of using my hands and my heart to create a beautiful life led by love. Art making is healing, grounding and expanding. It is a way to find the truth. It has awakened my gifts it has brought me back to myself.
A big part of my process is in the collecting. I love finding forgotten bits of fabrics and papers and adding layers of my own marks with paints, ink, tea, coffee and graphite. My favorite tool is a plain old #2 pencil. Especially ones I find forgotten but still full of their last users energy.
My intuition is my greatest teacher and constant muse. Emotions play a huge part in my art, giving me insight and release. Helping me expand my understanding of myself and the world around me. I’m a huge nature lover and you can find me on my best days tending to my high country garden or walking in the woods.

I love your studio. I had a similar one where I had years of collected bits and pieces from here and there, old books, you name it, I’d picked it and saved it. My studio was my safe place until March 13 of this year when a fire swept through our Okla community and totally destroyed everything. I know there was no way to save any of my goodies or plan for that day and we got away safe. The reason I’m writing is to say your candles are lovely but please, please be careful with them. You may have heard it before and rebuilding is always on the table but those bits and pieces, books, etc aren’t that easy to replace. Just be careful. That said, I love your work.
Hi Aimee, i loved seeing your creative love filled space. I can really get a sense of how wonderful it is to make art in your studio. I really feel your energy, peace and love in all of your space. It’s just lovely!

Love your space and the collecting aspect of it! Really inspires me to put my stuff out where I can see more of it. Thank you for sharing.
Aimee! I love your studio spaces! I feel the calm abiding needed for creating, and your collections of fodder, supplies and “whatnots” are simply scrumptious!! Thank you for sharing!!
What a gorgeous, sprawling creative retreat! My biggest question for Aimee is: How do you keep your Staghorn Ferns looking so happy in the dry CO environment?! I live in Wi and struggle to keep my ferns happy despite daily misting and keeping the soil damp. Yours look SO vibrant & healthy!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful creative spaces in the cosy CO pines!
Thank you for letting me look into your studio❤️🥳 Such a fantastic environment to meditate and create your art in. Nature does wonders for us and I also live in the middle of nature in a country store built in 1909 next to a small river. I’m so glad I bought several of your courses👏❤️❤️❤️
Thank You that I found You!
