So excited that there are so many new friends here! Welcome! I am so glad you are here and I am thankful that we get to wander together creatively.
My name is Jeanne Oliver and I grew up in rural Illinois and now reside in Castle Rock, CO. I was talked out of art school so I did the next logical thing and majored in psychology and history
. I believe we get second and third chances to walk out our giftings and my life has been a testament to that. So, don’t lose hope if you missed some things the first time around.
I met my husband while working and living in Washington D.C. I spotted him in a bar and professed to my friends that I just saw my future husband. Three months later we were engaged and eight months after meeting we were married.
One year into marriage we got pregnant with our Jack and not long after that we moved to Colorado. Two years later our Madolyn was born followed by Benjamin.
Somehow I ended up homeschooling our kids from the beginning and actually worked for us, our family and our business. We now have kids that love reading, conversation and traveling all over the world with us! Lucky us! Our oldest graduated college as a music composition major, our daughter graduated college with degrees in legal studies and songwriting, and our youngest just wrapped up two years working for @jstustudios and we just moved him out to Nashville for his next adventure. All 3 are now all in Nashville together.
When it comes to my art I am inspired by our personal stories, travel, and nature. I use art to tell my current stories and also those of growing up among gravel roads, cornfields and early life surrounded by open spaces. Through mark making, layers and mixed media, I hope to convey that we all have a story to tell.
I am married to my dream maker, Kelly, and being a mom is my greatest adventure.
I was told that I needed to find that one thing but I don’t like listening to directions so I embrace many loves and that has given me a sweet mash-up of family, art, and travel.⠀None of this would be possible without my deep faith and love in Jesus. Connecting with women and sharing that each of us has been creatively made is one of my greatest passions.
