We recently took Benjamin’s room from his nursery paint colors to a room that will grow with him for awhile.
When Jack was born we decorated his nursery in pale blues and it was beautiful for our first baby.
When Benjamin was born he was our third baby and second boy.
I knew as soon as I found out we were having a boy I wanted to create a really fun room for him and one that would grow with him more than the pale blue had for Jack.
Benjamin’s original room was in green, white and chocolate brown and we only changed in within the past few months.
{I found photos I took a long time ago from my old blog. The photos of Ben made me cry because he was so little}
Ben had a lot of input into his room which I think children should have.
He chose his paint color, his bed, desk/chair and created most of the art in the room.
I pulled the room together with the little details and surprised him with the hanging chair.
I am sure we will continue to tweak his space but this is what it looks like right now…
OK, that is not true.
His room is a complete disaster right now and looks nothing..I mean NOTHING like the photos I am about to show you.
Without all the clothes and toys all over the place this is what his room looks like….
We are about to start on Jack’s room because he is now ready to transform his room into an almost teenager room (when did that happen?)
We are looking forward to doing some woodwork in his room too.
We do everything ourselves so don’t expect those photos anytime soon:-)
How do you make the most of your money when redoing a child’s room?

I can’t wait to create with you.
I LOVE Ben’s new room and truly love that you allowed him so much input… That will make it that much more special for him! 🙂
Thank you and I agree.
Looks so good, JB! I’m loving the wall color and the rusty B. And SWOONING over his over-the-bed artwork!
I think it is pretty awesome too!
Where did you get the “toolbox-like” container on his desk? That is so perfect!
Kim, it is an old caddy from Hobby Lobby that I painted grey:-) I filled it will crayons, markers and scissors.
Hi Jeanne! Can you give us a breakdown of the hardware used to hang the Ikea Ekorre swing? I am ordering this chair via amazon for my 2 yr old son and want to make sure it will bounce and hang properly – looks like you have something red at the ceiling?? thanks!
We just bought the hanging hardware that IKEA sells separately from the chair. It was sold right next to the chair. I am sorry that I don’t know anything more about it.
Such a sweet boy and great room – before and after.
Thank you:-)
