Think of one of your favorite dead artists. Now go and look up how many of their works were on paper, clay, canvas etc. and what do you notice?

Vincent Van Gogh had around 1300 works on paper and around 900 paintings. Matisse had over 3000 works on paper, 612 paintings, and 248 sculptures. Picasso made over 50,000 works in his lifetime with around 13,500 paintings.  Each artist that we admire for one reason or another, that we know their name or see their work in museums, or those that are living artists surrounding us right now, the one thing they will have in common is that they created VOLUME.
