A few weeks ago my friend Jennifer Rizzo came to Colorado to photograph our home for her new Christmas DIY and Decor book coming later this year.
After all the work was done it was fun to shop, talk and have some down time.
One morning at coffee I had been telling her about the movie The End of The Spear.
Later that night we watched the movie and no matter how many times I have watched it…it moves me to tears.
You can’t help but wonder how these women had the strength to live with the Mincayani tribe after this same tribe killed their husbands.
It made me think about how we each choose to use our gifts.
It had me thinking about our passions and the heart we have for people and places.
My mind started racing thinking about one friend after another that was living their passion.
Not one friend is doing the same thing.
I am surrounded by the most amazing women using their gifts just the way the Lord intended.
Their gifts are bringing joy to their lives.
Their gifts are blessing those around them.
Their gifts are honoring of Him.
Not everyone is supposed to dig wells in Africa.
Can you imagine if everyone had the same call on their lives?
Can you imagine if everyone used their gifts in the same way?
Can you even imagine how boring it would be?
This week I watched with pure JOY as my long time friend Courtney Walsh launched a lifetime dream with her out of this world creative husband.
If you knew the moving, job changes and questioning over the past few years it would make this story that much more incredible.
When things don’t go as planned…make a new plan.
What are you waiting for?
Who else is going to do what YOU were born to do?
Did you know that nothing is too small for the Lord to use in a mighty way?
EVERY gift with passion…has great potential!
Don’t compare.
Your gifts and your passions are exactly what they are supposed to be.
If you don’t know what they are…I would start asking the Lord to make them clear.
He put them in you to lavish you.
He adores you.
You are His favorite:-)
Take a moment to look at what my friend is doing.
Before you watch this and think they are so gutsy or so talented (they are these things) or that you could never do this..
I want you to know that this was a CHOICE they made when they could have done what they have always done or they could finally decide to GO FOR IT!
Just watch…
I dare you not to watch this one over and over and over….
I had tears after I watched that trailer for an upcoming class.
I was just excited for them because they took the leap…they are doing it!
GOOD on them!!!
I’m so excited for and proud of Adam and Courtney. All that will go on in “The Studio” is going to make an amazing impact on so many young people! Good for them for dreaming big and jumping into that dream with their whole hearts! They are inspiring!
That second video made me grin ear to ear! Many moons ago, I performed Godspell at the Red Rock amphitheater. So many awesome memories. I’m so happy for them!
Very…very…cool!

What a magnificent calling Courtney and her husband have to make kids feel special through the arts. Their alive dream is making a difference now and for eternity. Jeanne, thank you for sharing!!!
Just ordered End of the Spear from amazon, cheap at only 5.58 including shipping. Looking forward to watching it, thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for your words of encouragement. God has individual gifts and we cannot compare. We always do it though. I think fear is the big thing that holds us back. It was inspiring to see a husband and wife team start on their dream journey and see the fruit
Blessings, Diane
