Course Description

Faded shapes and lines will be our guide as we imagine what comes next. Join me as we alter magazine pages, create copies, tear and burn images, bring in our own marks, stitch and create brand new images from what was. Our imaginations can go wild with realistic or unrealistic images. This process will not only bring you so much joy but it just may bring your art into a whole new world.

This is a live Zoom online workshop. If you can not make the live sessions, this workshop is filmed high res, edited and then available (within 24 hours of the live) on our site like all other online courses. This course will be downloadable, closed captioned, high res and instantly available no later than November 16th @ 5am MT.

Techniques Taught

• Get out of your head exercises that bring forth new ideas
• Using magazine pages as our substrates, we will alter them using various tools and mediums
• Altering with Nevr-Dull, paint, charcoal, crayons
• Stitching into the paper with needle and thread or a sewing machine
• Using tracing paper and paper to create new works
• Photocopy our works to create new works through collage
