Course Description
Learn from Kate Thompson how to break down a face for success with portraits. In this course you will be working on two faces. One is painted and the other one is a pencil drawing.

Kate will show you how to render the pencil drawing using the cross hatching technique. You will be supplied with a line drawing of this face which makes this technique applicable to all levels. The other face will be painted in gray values. Image transfers will be created and torn to add to the face creating a deconstructed, layered piece of art. Kate shows you several embroidery techniques to bring the transfer pieces together.
The pencil sketch portrait has several layers of fabric strips applied to the face with added stitching to embed everything. It's quite a bit more colorful than the first one.
