I wanted to share more of what I am reading, watching, listening to and learning etc. There is so much beauty all around us and we have to be intentional to make sure that what we consume (watch, read, listen to, learn) feeds us in beautiful ways. BUT the other message I know to be equally true is about not just being a consumer of all the beauty. Sit in the quiet. Be a maker of the beauty just for yourself.
I have just returned from helping my friend, Daune Pitman, on her NYC Holiday retreat (I counted people and made sure people didn’t get lost:-)) and I couldn’t help but share some of the inspiration.
I just returned from a trip to NYC & am so sorry I missed MOMA. But I was able to see the Degas/Manet exhibit at the MET. Absolutely breathtaking in gallery-after-gallery of their work, compared and contrasted. And “Women Designing Women” was a revelation of sumptuous, luxurious, and absolutely-flattering fashion any woman would love to wear. Always meaning to get to Bemelmans-hope I finally will next trip.
Jeanne, your latest revelation regarding your home have left us a bit hanging. Did I miss something?
Hey Jeanne, just read this and love it!! Your time in NY brings back so many memories of my trips there. Our daughter spent two years living uptown auditioning on Broadway and working temp work around the city. I made so many trips to see her, some alone so she and I could have girl time and some with our family. I never made it to the Bemelmans Bar but will have to put it first on my list next time. I think I read that Duane is not going to do any more NY trips—I hope she changes her mind….. Thank you, as always, for sharing beauty in so many places and encouraging us to do the same. New Years blessings for you and your family as you embark on a new adventure!! We can’t wait to hear all about it.
Fondly, Cate Tuten
You always leave the kindest messages! Thank you! I hope Daune does another NYC Holiday too! It is so special and she makes it magical.
