– Raw, unstretched canvas or unbleached cotton (about 1 metre / 1 yard)

– Gesso (enough to prep the substrate) – can be spray Gesso or the ‘paint on’ kind

– Acrylic Paints – Titanium white, Burnt Umber, Raw Umber, Yellow Ochre, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Mars Black, Paynes Gray, Neutral Gray, Pyrrole Red/Cadmium Red

– Acrylic Extender/Retarder

– Brushes – a variety of sizes from large to small

– Pallet Knife

– Pallet – toned grey paper palette is great or a white background one is fine too

– Water Cup

– Cloth or Paper Towels

– Charcoal/pencil and sketchpad for sketching outline ideas
