Let's Play Dress Up | Welcome! - Jeanne Oliver

Welcome to my mini summer e-course on fashion & style. My name is Paige Knudsen.  I’m wife to Dan & mom to four daughters, Savannah (20), Madison (18), Emily (16) and Caroline (12). The girls & I love all things related to fashion. While each of my girls and I have our own individual style we share a fondness for fun jewelry, great shoes & staying on trend.  Watching each of them chose styles that reflect their maturity and their personality has been great fun for me.

We live in the south where it’s hot the majority of the year.  We’ve been known to pull out white before Easter and keep it in the rotation long after Labor Day. Monograms, Lilly Pulitzer, cocktail dresses & cowboy boots worn on SEC game days are all part of the norm.

I want to this course to be an encouragement to you in your own personal style.  This begins by being confident in whom you are. Your choice in fashion is just the icing on top of the cupcake.  I want to encourage you to be true to yourself and your style yet encourage you to step out of the little box and maybe take a fashion risk, become aware of what’s on trend and how to build your staples in your own closet. This is not a course encouraging you to spend a lot of money.  While I will certainly share designer brands with you, our home is full of bargains & everyday pieces.  You instinctively already know what looks best on you and those pieces that make you stand a little straighter & feel a little more beautiful.  It’s to those things that I toast you!

Be true to your personal style yet always keep your eyes open for the things around you that inspire.  Imitation is a wonderful form of flattery so take those things that make you smile, make you feel a new little side of yourself & add them on into your inventory.  Coco Chanel said, “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

So go for it & remember, always have fun!
