I live in a tiny little 1880’s railway cottage in a small town on a ¼ acre block in Qld Australia. I have two beautiful hazel eyed children, Kirstie 19 and Andrew 16 and wife to my highschool sweetheart. As a child I grew up on a dairy farm and from a very early age I had a love for art especially painting and drawing…. After finishing school I couldn’t afford to do a commercial art course so I went to secretarial school and worked in that field till I had my children. Over the last 13 years I have been able to live my dream of combining being a stay at home mum with creating and designing for a living. Firstly, through catalogues, a web site, to owning a retail shop and now back home again in my little atelier creating once more. Cathy Penton Atelier is an extension of who I am, my love for interior design, photography, jewelry design, blogging, beautiful sayings and words and the simple details of life.

After traveling to France and Italy in 2010, my view of the world changed so much. Every detail just seemed a little bit more beautiful and their passion for the simple details and love for life was evident.
