One of my children's favorite places on earth is my parent's farm.
It has become our tradition that as soon as we finish school each year I drive with the three kids to Illinois and play with Grandma and Grandpa.
Did you hear me…I drive with three children from Colorado to Illinois. I just wanted you to think I was Wonder Woman for a moment…I am only asking for a moment.
NEBRASKA.
Seriously. This is one tough state to drive through.
Me….after driving for many hours through Nebraska.
Not many Starbucks in that state.
The children were really pretty great the whole trip. Benjamin was a little harder this year, but for the most part they were amazing.
We always stop for a picnic lunch, stop half way in Lincoln, NE for the night and they watch TONS of movies.
Greatest invention EVER!!!
My dad had a man make the kids a see-saw.
The kids loved it and played on it everyday.
They love the tree swing.
We all loved taking long walks with Lizzy the dog. I think she likes our visits.
We even got to take a peek at the neighbor's chickens and goats.
Benjamin and Grandpa on one of the vintage tractors.
That smiled stayed on her face the whole visit.
My little girl loves her Grandpa. She was up with him every morning wanting to do "farm work".
She worked hard too.
Grandma and Grandpa just sent her a pair of overalls….because every farm girl needs the right clothes.
Tomorrow stay tuned for popsicles, tree houses and s'mores.
what a great time! I want to go! that teeter totter is awesome!
looks like they had a fun time…do you think my kids could tag along next time?
xo
Oh can I have a go on the tractor, please 🙂 what a gorgeous farm, how long did it take you to drive? All I can say is it looks like its well worth the trip just to see your dad’s face on the sea saw with his grand kids, enjoy 🙂 looking forward to hearing all about the popsicles tomorrow.

Gorgeous pictures of the simpler way of life. You know I’m lovin’ those. Have a great weekend.
Waht a nice trip. I too just got home from a trip and I was hoping to have some pictures up to show everyone….. nothing looks good compared to your sweet farm pictures. It was sooo hot and muggy where we were that I just did not get out on my parents farm to do any picture taking 🙁 I planned on a whole lil photo shoot with my girls in their vintage crinolines and cowboy boots… I forgot the crinolines so I will do a lil shoot at home maybe in wine country soon. I like your site and your posts, please stop by mine and say hello.
Sheila
