I have been wanting to show you my window seat for awhile now.
On a whim I rearranged the shelves and put new curtains up (Target).
I only used items that I already had except for the curtains and I just sewed new seat cushions.
That was the final piece that needed to be added before I could show you.
I bought some great French ticking at WAL-MART….yes, Wal-mart.
I tea stained it in my tub.
My two year old was a great help unwrapping all those darn tea bags.
At one point he wanted to drink it or get in..I opted for letting him get in.
The bathroom smelled really good.
Here is the final result and I am really happy with the whole look.
The only thing I might add is a small chandelier above the windows.
I have received a bunch of emails today about some of things in the pictures.
Most of the items on the shelves came from antique stores or flea markets.
You can buy the pillows at the following places Petit Coterie, Marley & Lockyer and The Beautiful Life.
The beautiful mixed media collage is from Sweet Pumpkins.
Love it!!! Could totally cozy up there and read a good book or Mag…. Happy Monday!
Oh I would love to have a beautiful window seat like that. The pillows and cushion are wonderful!
Jeanne, that nook looks so pretty…what a great place to sit with your favorite book…you did such a beautiful job of putting it all together…lovely:)
I love it! I could just curl up with a book and waste the whole day. You’ve added such nice finishing touches – the old books, the beautiful jar of buttons. A work of art!
Jeanne -it looks FABULOUS! I can just imagine sipping tea: watching the snow fall, rain fall, kids playing outside, or reading a book. What a sweet seat – and check out gallery84.com for VERY inexpensive chandeliers – in all shapes and sizes!

Your window seat is the perfect place to curl up with a good book. You have done a beautiful job of decorating it. Love the ticking, one of my favorites and all your sweet accessories just make it a perfect cozy spot. Great job!!!
Very pretty! I want to curl up there each morning with my chocolate milk. (I dont drink coffee) and maybe even take a nap!
It’s just gorgeous Jeanne – really, really lovely! How funny, I have most of the same pillows you have. I wanted the big burlap pillow to look a little more aged, so I ran it through the washer and dryer(even though it said not to). Let’s just say I achieved the look I was going for, but I was vaccuuming burlap out of my dryer for a week! Happy Monday…

Thanks for the tip on finding ticking fabric at Wal-Mart! I was just at JoAnn’s this weekend looking for ticking but couldn’t find any–I never would have thought to look at WM! I always forget they sell fabric. I went this morning and got some of both the red and blue, yay!

Absolutely stunning! I love how you pulled it all together and I think a petite chandelier above would be just perfect! I think this may be my first visit to your blog…but I know it won’t be my last…very inspiring! Thank you!
Good morning Jeanne 🙂
That spot looks so beautiful and cozy all at once that I would want to sit there all day and get nothing done. It looks like a magazine spread, seriously.
