With these two little words do you rush for a carton of cigarettes and a bottle of liquor?
I have to admit that typically I find them a little stressful.
Sure…easy to get the three kids coordinated and looking good…but throw me and my husband in the mix and it can be a nightmare.
Our last family photos were 2 1/2 years ago.
I needed a drink. Two out of the three were crying. One child was sucking on her shirt…which she was really too old to do.
So. We took a little break from family photos. I thought I would be good for the rest of my life just taking photos of myself with my children (to prove I existed in their childhood).
I thought I would be fine with that until I saw the beautiful photography of Cathy Walters.
She lives about 30 minutes from us and I started THINKING…only thinking about trying this whole family photo stuff again.
A few months ago I finally decided to give it a try. We booked a date and this Monday she met us in our town.
No tears.
No stress.
We laughed. A lot.
She even let me change my clothes a few times (so did Maddy).
She took over 1,000 photos of our little family and she is currently in the process of getting a portfolio together for us to chose from.
But she was so kind to give us just a peek from our Monday shoot.
I can't tell you how excited I am to see the rest!!!
I have already told you numerous times that I am not patient!!!
Cathy was so fun to work with and I even had the privilege of having a little time with her after the shoot. After Kelly took the kids home…Cathy and I ate at Dream Pastries…an amazing French restaurant in town, had our lattes and even looked at antiques.
If you are ANYWHERE near Denver you really need to give her a call! I will let you girls see more when I do!!

Oh my goodness! These photos are amazing! I love how she captures the “realness” and that they’re not fake little poses LOL! Where was the shoot? I’d LOVE to do another family photo, but like you, I’m terrified. Bailey would probably do well outdoors. We haven’t had photos done since she was 9 months old!!!

Jeanne, those are some of the most beautiful family photos i have ever seen…i like how relaxed and natural they are…one thing i have never liked about family photos is how everyone usually looks so stiff and “posed”…these pictures are not like that one little bit…i think it will be very hard for you to choose which to buy…the pic of your little guy is the sweetest thing!!!

Well, we are all loving the boots. And is that the J Crew ruffle pinstriped shirt I spy under your jacket? I love every last detail of every single shot. The whole lot of you is gorgeous.
You are all gorgeous!! Seriously model material there. Loved them all. Wish I was closer I’d sign up in a heartbeat to have her do ours. We haven’t had pics taken professionally in a long time. We are due!
BTW we are staying here. Too much trouble to move…even though Boston was a temptation. 6 more days:)

Jeanne, these are AMAZING!! she did a wonderful job, however her subjects made it VERY easy I see! you and your hubby are adorable together..and the kids well, they are SUPER Cute….thanks for sharing…we have family photos from when my baby was 6 months old…hmm, best change that.
P.S. I always tell the pool man to shave his head (he is going bald, shh don’t tell)…I think it looks so well, errr, HOT! not that I was checking out your hubby or anything! hehe!
