While Kelly, Benjamin and I would sleep in every morning…..Jack and Madolyn would wake up early and go with Grandpa to get coffee and donuts at "The Depot."
The Depot is just the local gas station in town (VERY SMALL TOWN) that has a cafe and grocery store attached.
Yes, I allowed my kids to drink coffee.
Don't judge me…they are doing hard farm work and need to keep their energy up.
They love this time with my dad and truth me told…I think they like the locals too.
Madolyn spent a week alone with Grandma and Grandpa before the rest of us arrived.
When we got there she gave us the run down of all the action that had gone on at The Depot.
She told us about PBR, Big H and even ….The Hammer.
It was quit amusing and even funnier when on one of our last days Kelly, Ben and I joined them for coffee and met the locals for ourselves.
While we were paying for our coffee Madolyn ran up to me so excited, "Mom, Big H is here….and he is NEVER here!"
I think the real reason they like The Depot is because they got donuts….every morning.
When we visit my family, my children love to go with my dad to the bank to make the deposit for the church. And sweets are a motivating factor…lollipops and cookies!
oh great. now i want a donut.

Grandpa must have had such FUN showing off his grandkids. Now they will have something to talk about at The Depot for the next 6-8 months. Personally, I’d prefer to take a bite of any one of your sweet, fresh-faced kids over one of those donuts any day!! You’re such a good mom to let them have their coffee and donuts for breakfast. Lifetime memories, kiddo, lifetime memories, it’s what we’re all about, right?!
Looks like fun, I could use a donut right about now.

Why oh why did you show donuts?? You know how I feel about them!!! Your kiddos are precious. Makes me want to grab one right out of their little hands and run for it!
I had coffee and doughnuts at 5 years old and I think I turned out pretty darn cool (if I do say so myself). They will remember this time with your dad forever! Love the photos!

I love donuts to…………while I was pregnant with our now 31 year old I would eat donuts every saturday at the local donut shop. After he was born my sister and I would take our toddlers to donuts every saturday……..traditions are great to have. Your children are precious.

It’s 9:30 pm and all I’m doing is thinking about donuts now :/ But seriously, your kids are cuties…and what a great way to get a day started (coffee and all :)).
