Supply List
Watercolor paper 140 lb hot press (I will be working approximately 9×12”. Any heavyweight watercolor paper is fine, but it does need to be smooth (hot press))
Soft gel medium (matte or semi-gloss; I’ll be using matte)
Assorted paintbrushes, including a liner brush
Disposable brush or cheap brush for gel medium
Glue stick
Catalyst silicone wedge
Color shaper tool (optional)
Precision applicator tubes
Acrylic paints (I will be using these colors but please use colors that you love: Cadmium Yellow Medium, Cadmium Red Medium and Ultramarine Blue. Nova Color has good-quality, affordable soft body paints.)
High Flow Acrylic paints (I recommend white, black and gold or copper).
White gesso (or white fluid acrylic paint)
Black gesso (or black fluid acrylic paint)
Masking tape (my favorite is Frog Tape)
Bamboo skewers (from the grocery store)
Soft rubber brayer (any size is fine as long as it’s soft)
White paint pen (plus any other colors you have on hand)
Spray bottle with water
Disposable gloves or barrier cream to protect hands
Paper towels
Palette knife (Any palette knife for mixing paint will work)
Deli sheets
Butcher paper or printer paper
Drawing pencils (I’ll be using 2B or 4B)
Spray fixative or aerosol hairspray
Water-soluble crayons (or choose 3-4 colors that you love)
China marker
Vintage paper scraps
Condiment bottles like these (optional)
Your own mark-making tools (wine corks, old credit cards, carved erasers, anything!)
