First of all I would like to say that I am so excited to be in a photograph with my children. If you are a mom of kids you know what I am talking about. There are thousands of photos of my children with my husband…I am usually the one behind the camera. I was so happy when my husband grabbed the camera and took these pictures. It would have been nice if I had MAKEUP on!!!! Oh, well…I will take what I can get.
I hope you guys are really enjoying this amazing time of year. We homeschool and we are officially on Christmas break. We have been decorating, seeing friends, making gifts, doing Advent, reading beautiful books and just being together. Do you ever feel like you just need a break from everything else so you can breath? If we don't take this time before Christmas it is all over and gone before we know it.
The children are playing the piano tomorrow at a local nursing home (there will also be other children from the same piano teacher). They are so excited to go and I hope it blesses the residents…you never know. A few years ago the children sang Christmas carols at a local nursing home and a lady at the back was saying, "What the @#$! I wish these @#%$&*# kids would go back home! I hate kids!" The children never heard her, but I was almost crying laughing. It was somewhere between extremely sad and hilarious. What if I turn into grumpy, kid hating, swearing grandma…..?
I hope you are making your own sweet memories and taking the time to just breath in this sweet time. If that doesn't sound good to you….yell at the Christmas carolers!
