When we first saw our home and land it was covered in snow but out of my future studio windows I saw this opening in the trees and I immediately imagined lights, a long farm table and a gathering place for family and friends.

Over the past year and a half, we have hosted workshop lunches in that gathering place, homecoming dinner, pizza with family and cocktails for more than I can count. With an umbrella of tree branches, soft lights and enough seating for everyone this simple space has made my heart so happy.

I hope you will join me and the other bloggers over the next months for the Seasons of Home Series hosted and created by Kristen Whitby of Ella Claire. This fall we have teamed up with Joss and Main to help create a beautiful and stylish outdoor space. It is fun anytime I can work with them and they have brought such beautiful and affordable items into our home.

On the day I set up for this photo shoot we had friends arriving from out of town. They were joining us after two long days of looking at homes and land and this is what was waiting for them when they arrived on our land.

I have a cabinet full of my core decorating and styling elements. I like to mix textures, sheens, styles and to always bring in natural elements when possible. Because I already have my decorating favorites all in one place it is easy to bring a space together in an authentic and natural manner. I am a big believer that once you know your style and what elements you love to use in your decor it helps you not only bring a space together but also to not purchase things you do not need or use.

I also love to mix natural elements like branches, plants, lambskin, the raw wood of the farm table and mix with candles, lights and the sheen of beautiful glassware, mirror and brass. Some of the prettiest elements of this gathering space were found at Joss and Main.

We were able to bring together a cocktail station with the brass and mirror cocktail cart and gorgeous glassware from Joss and Main. It was the perfect addition to this gathering space.

One of our families favorite new additions to this space is the gas firepit from Joss and Main. With the lights and the firepit, it has become a magical space among the trees and I couldn’t be happier with this sweet space.
