Simple touches around the house are my favorite for adding holiday touches each year. I have two small boxes that hold everything we need to decorate…tree ornaments, white lights, my favorite pom pom wreath and garland from Anthropologie. The rest we add through special recipes we make together, white lights throughout the home, pine branches from our land, candles burning, Christmas music and the people we gather. And the being ready. Having your heart ready to welcome people into our spaces when they are not perfect. This took me years to conquer and sometimes I still fight it. So, I love so much the joy of cleaning up my space and making it special but nothing can be as beautiful as being ready to love on others.
Welcome to the next post in the Seasons of Home Holiday Series created by Kristen Whitby or Ella Claire. In this post, we have collaborated with HomeGoods as we share our library and music room dressed up for Christmas. The whole heart of the tour is to share simple inspiration as you head into the season of gathering.

This is where all of the children practice and play the piano, where we are constantly heading to grab another book, where we read by ourselves or where we listen to records. This room is what sold me on this house and I could easily see how I could transform it. I saw the paint, the black painted window frames, the built-in bookcases with a ladder, the lighting, room to read and listen, the piano and the beautiful wall space for art. We are slowly creating our spaces but this space is extra special to me. I am extra fond of it because we can look out those huge windows into our garden.
