Easter Part I

I was wanting to do something special for the children for Easter.  We have been so excited for spring and we have been wanting to plant something…anything to be exact. I was thinking about how easy wheatgrass is to grow and thought it would be fun to do live Easter baskets for Easter morning.  I went online and wouldn't you know it there were directions.  I had the kids go and grab their baskets.  We lined them half way with …

True Love

Everyone usually has someone that inspires them creatively…whether it is decorating, cooking, crafting….creating in general.   Maybe you have someone that you look up to for their wisdom or advice.   Many women love Oprah.  I mean LOVE Oprah.  I am not one of those girls.  No thanks.  I don't watch her show and if she has a book recommendation I run the other way.  Many women love Martha.  Too perfect for me….at least on the surface.  I don't change my curtains …

Friday Musings

This room was a must.  I love to entertain and wanted the extra space to accommodate guests.  We have two more windsor chairs off to the side to be able to seat eight.  It would be amazing to have more room but I am so happy with what we have.  What I really love about this room is the deep, rich colors of the wall.  When we were first painting it I was getting a little scared that I had …

Inspiration

Where do you keep your inspiration? I have binders with magazine pages. I have wooden bowls full of vintage books. I have a cabinet full of lovely ironstone. I have a glass jar of vintage wooden stamps. We can really put the things we love around us everywhere. I am always inspired when I see people USING their vintage linens…not just keeping them in a drawer. Inspiration boards are everywhere and so much fun to decorate.  I decided to do …

Local Treasures

My favorite summer time activity with my girlfriends is to hit the local flea markets on Saturday morning.  With coffee in hand and cash in my pocket I am on a mission to find vintage treasures.  It gets a little bit harder to satisfy that need in the winter months here in Colorado.  My saving grace is The Barn.   The Barn was built in 1905 and has been turned into an antique market.   Each stall is a different shop.  Some carry antiques, some …

The Busy Scrapper Giveaway

I am so excited to have a giveaway of my friend Courtney Walsh's book The Busy Scrapper.  The book was just released! This is Courtney's second book. Her first book, Scrapbooking Your Faith, had beautiful layouts and amazing inspiration.   Courtney's new book is perfect for all of us that want to preserve our family's memories, but have a hard time finding the time.  She has so many beautiful and easy layouts to follow.  I love to scrapbook but the …

Decorating Dednesday

Ok.  I know there is not a Dednesday day of the week.  I couldn't help it.  No other day starts with a "D".  I wanted to give you a little peek into our bedroom.  Don't worry….no funny stuff.   I love this desk.  I have always wanted a desk in our bedroom.  My husband didn't think we had room.  Girls…..has that EVER stopped me?  He was amazed that it worked. I played this clarinet in elementary school.    I love …
