Creative Girl: The Land of Light and Shadows {last days for early registration and a giveaway}

I am so thrilled with the response to Danielle Donaldson’s new online art class Creative Girl: The Land of Light and Shadows. Once you see Danielle’s work you just want to study it and understand the layers and techniques that she uses. Lucky us that we get to learn from her! Here is a peek into what her course will be about… Once upon a time there was a tiny-ish girl who loved to cut, draw, and paint. She saw …

Flea Market Finds Decorating Blog Hop

Welcome to everyone coming from Kim’s gorgeous blog! I am so glad you are here and I hope you enjoy your visit. My friend Jen had the fun idea of getting a bunch of bloggers together, having us send flea market finds to each other and we had to alter or decorate with them. I love vintage architectural salvage and old bits and pieces. I was thrilled to use this small collection of vintage door knobs in the blog hop. …

Kitchen Remodel Phase One {My Computer Desk}

Thank you for your comments about the new shelving.  We love how it opens the space and allows me to share more art and part of my ironstone collection. All of our day to day dishes are still in the cabinets and easier for the kids to reach. Another smaller project that we just recently finished was tearing out the original built in desk in our kitchen and replacing it with a desk that we already had. We tore out …

Kitchen Remodel Phase One {Open Shelving}

We built our home 11 years ago and we are just getting to things that we thought we would do right away. I am now so grateful that we didn’t make the changes earlier and spend the money for the upgrades earlier because I think I would be wanting to rip them out now. One of the biggest upgrades to our home was the cherry floors we added and the cherry cabinets. The cherry floors have always added so much …

A Peek Into Our House Updates

I have been meaning to get this post up for days now. We were only getting the floors done and a new island…what could go wrong? I was guessing two weeks max and our life would be back to normal. Never…and I mean NEVER…trust me on time frames with house projects. Whatever I say you have to double it to be even remotely close. We are currently one month without water in our kitchen. The good news is the floors …

Prepare Your Heart

I had intended on sharing some house updates and the crazy photos of our renovation. That WAS the plan. This morning as I was lying in bed, slowly trying to wake up and reading the news of the day I saw this quote on Toby Mac’s FB wall. “I want the presence of God Himself, or I don’t want anything at all to do with religion… I want all that God has or I don’t want any.” ? A.W. Tozer …

These Girls Are On Fire!

It is best thing EVER to see people you adore creating beauty for themselves and others. I have known Becky for five years and I have watched her go from blogging to making art to creating a whole business around creative cuffs! I have a few of her cuffs myself and we bought a special one for our Maddy for Christmas this year. Old leather belts, hand stamped metal and words that mean something to your heart…what is not to …
