All Roads Don’t Always Lead Home {We are learning that is ok}

I would have to admit that I am probably a little more (or a lot more) sentimental than my siblings. There is nothing good or bad about this but I do find myself affected differently than my siblings at times. When my parents sold the house we grew up in I was a wreck! I love connections to the past and places. Not surprising with my love of vintage items, history, art and traditions. They bought a small farm about …

Our Time In Farmland {moo}

First of all I would like to thank all of you that commented in my  Sometimes in the Pain post. I was overwhelmed by your response and also the countless private emails I received. I wrote that for me. I wrote that for my own family. To truth is that when I sat down to do the post I was just going to show photos from our trip home. At the last minute it quickly spilled out. I pressed publish …

How To Celebrate a Fall Evening in Style {Welcome to NaDa Farm}

There are some that have things that they could possibly take for granted because they don’t realize how precious it is. Then there are those that completely understand the gem they have in their hands and they love on it, nurture it and create something even more lovely…that is NaDa Farm. I grew up in rural Illinois so maybe farms just pull at my heartstrings. This is not your ordinary farm though. This farm has been loved on by a …

What is your harvest?

We are currently in Illinois visiting my mom and playing on her farm. When you drive from Colorado to Illinois you have so much time to think and ponder. We usually visit the farm in the summer so to see the landscape painted in golds, yellows, reds and orange was a treat. Field after field was being harvested and it hit me like never before. These men and women have worked all year for this. The harvest. They have prayed …

Hidden Possibilities {Do You See It}

I love a good makeover story. I see an old house and see all the potential beauty. I dream of amazing renovations with beautiful wooden floors revealed or architectural secrets discovered that the house has been keeping for years. So, imagine my delight when I came across this old, burned, stone house in the country in Illinois. There was another house on this property that was probably being lived in. It made me start thinking what I would do if …

Teaching {pure joy}

When I was little I used to go all around the neighborhood and round up other children to play school with me. It is no surprise to me how much I have loved teaching my own children. What has been so much fun and unexpected is all the incredible opportunities I have had over the past 1 1/2 years to teach other women. I love talking and connecting with women from all over and creating together. While I was in …

NaDa Farm {Part II}

My whole family had the privilege of meeting Anne Marie and her beautiful family last summer. From the moment you step on their land you are enveloped in peace and beauty. It is a rare treat to feel that so quickly. They have the joy of raising their children on land.  Real land.  Something I very much wish for. It didn’t feel any different this time. Most of the joy of being at their sale is actually enjoying this life …

NaDa Farm {Part I}

I am home from my very busy weekend in Illinois. With the launch of the line and then the trip to NaDa Farm to sell and teach….I am just trying to catch up on sleep! I arrived in Illinois last Thursday.  My friend, Jen, picked me up and Beth Quinn (who was also selling at the farm). Jen pretty much was running me all over the Chicago suburbs to find all the art supplies I needed for my class. {these …

Na-Da Farm {Come See Me}

{All photos on this post are by the talented Traci Thorson} Last summer, while I was visiting my parents, I was able to take the short drive to Na-Da Farm. We both homeschool our children, the kids had recently become pen pals and we were all looking forward to meeting each other in person. From the moment we drove onto their property we couldn’t help but smile. Jason and Anne Marie have paid such beautiful attention to details throughout their …
