An Artsy Weekend {with me}

While my children are still younger I only travel to teach four times a year. It is a real treat for me to teach in person and not only online (which I love, love, love). I love getting to know each woman, creating with her and connecting in a way that is only possible at a retreat. I will be teaching for TWO DAYS in Draper, Utah this June! We will be “painting” with Stabilo marks all pencils, creating vintage …

Lights, Camera {action??}

Wednesday afternoon I took off for my flight to Salt Lake City. I had been invited as one of four guest artists on my friend Christy Tomlinson’s new art and craft show. It was one of the last get together at the ALT Design Summit.  The conference room was full and they were closing the conference.  One of the last announcements before the final speaker was to announce the winner of …

When My Words Say One Thing {and my actions say another}

We had packed up our bags and eaten our breakfast. We were almost ready to head back to Colorado from Utah. We had spent the past three days up in the mountains skiing as a family. This was the first time we had all skied together as a family (he has taken each of the children up separately) and nothing could have made Kelly happier. As we were getting up from breakfast Kelly said, “Oh, no! I left my license …
